Kom Come
In Kom Emma Nilsson is showing her continued exploration in the uncertainty of the making process and the uncertainty in the condition of human existence. With wire mesh, porcelain and glaze she investigates the independence and latency in the materials and the uncontrolled outcome of the process is the result that permeates Nilssons’ work.
The previously brutal expression has been translated into a softness that speaks of a non-verbal longing and existential serene inquiry and despair. Through their own transformation, the sculptures manifest the deep fear of and desire to let go, the freedom beyond the mental and psychological experience of control.
